Rockwell Automation Acquires German Safety Products Company

Jan 10, 2002

Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK - news) announced today the expansion of its machine safety product and R&D capabilities by acquiring Tesch GmbH, an electronic products and safety relay manufacturer located in Wuppertal, Germany. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"Tesch has a solid reputation for its product technology throughout Europe, and a passion for excellence,'' said Keith Nosbusch, president, Control Systems, Rockwell Automation. "The availability and credibility of the company's advanced safety relays, dedicated function monitoring relays, and other product technologies complement our safety growth initiatives and expand our current industrial component product offerings.''

Tesch will be aligned with Rockwell Automation's UK-based EJA Ltd., a global market-leading manufacturer of Guardmaster® safety products. This acquisition provides Rockwell Automation enhanced technical expertise for ongoing safety activities and to set new standards for machine safety products that further support customer requirements.
