IPC NORTH AMERICAN EMS MARKET REPORT SHOWS SMALL COMPANIES ARE THE INDUSTRY’S BRIGHT SPOT

Jul 20, 2013

Small-company performance is one bright spot in the July 2013 edition of the IPC North American EMS Market Report released this month by IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries®. This month’s report indicates that the smallest EMS companies that participate in IPC’s North American EMS Statistical Program — those with less than $10 million in annual sales — have performed extremely well this year, with year-to-date sales growth almost 18 percent above the same period last year and year-to-date order growth of almost 25 percent. These companies’ predictions of sales growth for the next 3 to 12 months, as well as information on how larger companies fared in the first five months of 2013, are just some of the valuable data provided in IPC’s new monthly report.

The IPC North American EMS Market Report offers stakeholders a timely update to help them monitor this vital industry,” commented Sharon Starr, IPC director of market research. With data that was previously available only to statistical program participants, the report tracks market size and growth, reports on business performance trends and provides short-term forecasts of sales growth for companies of all sizes. With the launch of the IPC North American EMS Market Report and the IPC North American PCB Market Report earlier this year, subscribers can now gain access to timely market information on a monthly basis.

This month’s report also shows that 71 percent of the sales reported by participating companies this year are for PCB assembly, with the percentage of box build and other types of production showing growth in recent months. Monthly data on the breakdown of EMS sales by type of production is also covered in this report.

The 26-page July 2013 report includes results for May 2013 based on data from IPC’s North American EMS Statistical Program along with data from other sources, including market size estimates and forecasts.

A one-year subscription to the monthly report is available for $700, with a discounted annual price of $350 for IPC members. All subscriptions offer a money-back guarantee in the first month. For more information and to purchase, visit www.ipc.org/market-research-subscriptions.
