Juki Wins an Impressive Seven Awards in One Month

Apr 27, 2009

MORRISVILLE, NC - April 2009 - Juki Corporation announces that it has won seven awards at two different trade shows in the month of April. By continually striving to produce the highest quality products with the lowest cost of ownership, Juki has accomplished a feat that reflects its commitment to developing new and innovative products to meet the needs of its customers.

  • Four NPI Awards were presented to Juki at the start of the APEX 2009 show in Las Vegas. The first, in the category of Selective Soldering, was won for its FlexSolder W510 mini-wave selective soldering machine. The company received another NPI Award in the category of Multi-Function Pick-and-Place for its JX-100. Additionally, Juki received an award for its Intelligent Shop Floor Solutions Software (IS) in its first year in the category of Software. Finally, Juki received an award in the category of High-Speed Pick-and-Place for its FX-3 Chip Shooter.

  • Two SMT VISION Awards were presented to the company at the start of the APEX 209 show in Las Vegas. Juki received an award in the category of Process Control Tools for its Intelligent Shop Floor Solutions Software (IS). Additionally, Juki received an award for its FX-3 Chip Shooter in the category of Pick-and-Place.

  • Finally, to mark the end of a highly successful show run, Juki entered its JX-100 and won the EM Asia Innovation Award. The award was presented during NEPCON China/EMT China 2009 in the category of Pick and Place Systems/Equipment (Low/Medium Volume).

Each award is designed to recognize and celebrate excellence in electronics surface mount assembly and to premier products based on the finest examples of creative advancement in technology. Each award category is chosen by a distinguished panel of industry experts, designed to inspire companies to achieve the highest possible standards and to push the industry forward.

The FlexSolder W510 is a traditional mini-wave soldering module that supports board sizes up to 510mm x 510mm. The W510 is able to handle dual mini-waves for simultaneous or individual use. The advantage of individual use is having the ability to solder closer than 1mm to other SMD, but also being able to solder large connectors or other devices without the need for changing nozzle sizes. This is done automatically during production. No other machine in this market has this ability.

Featuring superior cost performance, versatility, reliable quality and easy operation, JX-100 is a batch machine originally designed for developing markets. However, at its price point it is well suited for NPI and low volume/OEM applications. The system produces maximum effect with minimum investment, and combines high versatility with a reasonable price, is easy to operate, and has a small footprint. It is optimal for companies starting out in surface mount or considering a used machine.

IS software raises production preparation, scheduling, quality, and monitoring to a new level by bringing together related functions into one comprehensive software package. Using a server-based architecture, IS gives managers, supervisors, and engineers the tools that they need to streamline production and operate in the most efficient manner possible to reduce cost and improve overall productivity.

With IPC speed of 60K cph, the FX-3 marks the entrance of Juki into ultra high-speed assembly lines and introduces Juki's standards for high quality, reliability and cost of ownership. The modular FX-3 fits seamlessly into Juki's portfolio of products and adds its powerful optimization software and quick-change feeder banks to set the standard for electronics manufacturing uptime.

Juki Corporation's experience as the market leader in industrial sewing machines was the stepping-stonefor theentry into the printed circuit board assembly market in 1987. Since then, Juki has delivered more than 20,000 automated assembly systems worldwide and is currently shipping an average of 200assembly machines per month. This extraordinary achievement makes Juki one of the world'sleading providers of automated assembly products and systems. In addition toits core technologies, Juki's Electronic Assembly and Test Systems Division develops and manufactures advanced electronic systems and computer software for data entry, mail processing and other electronic equipment.

With the purchase of Zevatech's assets in November 1999, Juki Automation Systems now brings Juki's reputation for top quality and reliable service alsoto the Northand South American and the European electronics assembly markets. Juki recognizes the challenges of the new century and is prepared to respond to the globalization of electronic manufacturing. With a sophisticated knowledge base, advanced technologies and a high commitment to its customers, Juki is poised for continued growth in the 21st century.
