Giga-Byte Selects Orbotech AOI Systems; Post-Solde

YAVNE, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 2001--ORBOTECH LTD. (NASDAQ/NM SYMBOL: ORBK) today announced the receipt of a major system order from Giga-Byte Technology Co., Ltd. for seven Trion-2000? series automated optical inspection (AOI) systems to be utilized for post-solder inspection in the manufacturer's production facilities in Taiwan and China. This initial order is part of a planned program to equip more than thirty of Giga-Byte's SMT lines with Orbotech AOI systems.

Giga-Byte selected Orbotech following an extensive evaluation of several AOI vendors that focused on high fault detection, throughput, fast set-up time, ease of use, effective repair and quality process control tools.
