Designed to handle computer-intensive imaging tasks, SAPERA 4.0 provides over 300 image acquisition, processing, and analysis functions. SAPERA 4.0 also features support for the SMART Series of application specific software libraries.
SAPERA 4.0 features a number of enhancements that speed application development, including 1-bit binary image support, C++ classes, ActiveX Controls, an application wizard, a camera configuration utility and support for Coreco Imaging�s SMART Series of add-on software libraries. Optimized using Intel�s MMX, SSE (Streaming SIMD Extensions), and SSE2 instruction sets, SAPERA 4.0 allows developers to take advantage of the latest technologies, including the new features offered by the Pentium 4. SAPERA 4.0 introduces new 1-bit binary image processing functions for segmentation, morphology, blob analysis, display, and file management. The SAPERA Application Wizard helps jump-start code development and CamExpert provides for quick and easy camera configuration. Additionally, SAPERA 4.0 integrates seamlessly with Coreco Imaging�s SMART Series. These application specific software libraries allow developers to create robust applications for Optical Character Recognition (OCR), 1D bar code and 2D matrix code recognition, pattern matching, and alignment. SAPERA 4.0 speeds time-to-market while providing high performance image acquisition, display, data transfer, processing, analysis functions, tools, and utilities. The software libraries are available as conventional �C� Dynamic-Link-Libraries (DLLs), ActiveX Controls, and C++ classes supporting code development environments such as Microsoft Visual C/C++, Microsoft Visual Basic, and Borland C++ Builder.
SAPERA 4.0 features a Microsoft Visual Studio compatible Application Wizard to jump-start the code development process by creating ready-to-compile software projects. The application templates created serve as the foundation for comprehensive image processing applications.
SAPERA 4.0 comes bundled with CamExpert, a Windows-based camera configuration utility developed by Coreco Imaging. CamExpert supports the entire family of Coreco Imaging�s embedded frame grabbers. Its intuitive interface allows users to create a new camera configuration file or modify an existing one rapidly and with ease. CamExpert incorporates a live video window to provide instantaneous visual feedback when fine-tuning camera parameters. CamExpert works with fixed and variable area-scan or line-scan cameras.
SMART Series
SAPERA 4.0 now includes Coreco Imaging�s SMART Series of highly optimized application specific libraries that produce fast and highly accurate results despite process variations. These capabilities are especially important in demanding pharmaceutical, semiconductor, and electronics manufacturing or packaging applications.
Coreco Imaging�s SMART Series software libraries include SMART OCR, SMART Matrix, and SMART Align. SMART OCR is a user-trainable optical character recognition library that can recognize fixed and variably spaced characters regardless of their scale and orientation. The SMART OCR character verification capability also supports partial string searching using wildcard characters. SMART Matrix decodes 1D and 2D bar codes, including Code 39, Code 128, UPCa, Postnet, BC412, and Matrix ECC200. SMART Align provides an advanced pattern-matching engine designed to work under poor and uneven illumination, making it ideal for semiconductor applications.

SAPERA 4.0 runs under Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and NT 4.0 Embedded and supports the entire family of Coreco Imaging embedded frame grabbers and vision processing boards, including the Bandit-II series, Viper Series, MAMBA, and the Pixel Processor. SAPERA 4.0 is available immediately, priced at $3900US for a single user developer license. SMART Series and SAPERA 4.0 runtime licenses start at $350 US. SAPERA-LT, a subset of SAPERA 4.0, is priced at $500US for a single user developer license and provides royalty-free runtime licenses. SAPERA LT includes functions for acquisition, display, and data transfer for supported embedded frame grabbers, such as Coreco Imaging�s Bandit-II Series and Viper Series.
