Kurtz Ersa North America, a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, is pleased to announce that it was awarded a 2017 Global Technology Award in the category of Wave Soldering for its Powerflow s. The award was presented to the company during a Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 ceremony that took place during productronica in Munich, Germany.
The Powerflow s is a high throughput, full tunnel nitrogen wave soldering machine designed to handle all wave soldering requirements. Additionally, it is fully connected for Industry 4.0. Highlights include:
Modular machine concept that can have two different alloys selected by recipe
Speed of more than 2 m/min
Preheating up to 3,5 meter of any configuration
Two total separate soldering modules for tin/lead or lead-free solders
Combination of lead and lead-free preselected by recipe
Two completely different temperatures in soldering module to optimize the process
Because of the long preheating and separate soldering modules, the system can achieve a very high throughput. With two solder modules, users can use different alloys and wave nozzles in one machine, and run a mix production without waiting/changing times between the different PCBs or the need for a second machine.
Rainer Krauss sales director of Kurtz ersa comments, “We are extremely pleased and honored to win this award with the new Powerflow s. It is a direct result of the changing demands of flexibility that our customers demand. The Powerflow s exhibits that, and we will continue to develop equipment to meet the needs of our customers and set the Ersa standard of excellence for wave soldering.”
Premiering in 2005, the Global Technology Awards program is an annual celebration of product excellence in electronics surface mount assembly.
