Krypton Solutions chooses Ersa for reflow, rework, selective solder and stencil printing

Nov 06, 2018

Kurtz Ersa Inc., a leading supplier of electronics production equipment, today announced that Krypton Solutions LLC has invested in several new systems from Ersa for its new facility. A long-time Ersa customer with equipment at its Plano, TX facility, Krypton selected Ersa to help furnish its new facility in San Jose, CA.

Krypton Solutions provides full service design, rapid prototyping and low/medium volume turn-key contract manufacturing services. The company purchased and installed two Hotflow 3/20 Reflow Ovens, two VERSAPRINT 2 Ultra Stencil Printers, a VERSAFLOW 3 selective soldering system, and an HR 550 rework system.

With the Ersa Hotflow 3/20, ten heated zones top-and-bottom and four active cooling zones, Ersa presents a process efficient solution. The oven is characterized by its high throughput inline operation, low operating cost and very attractive price.

The VERSAPRINT 2 Ultra is the first stencil printer worldwide with fully integrated 100 percent 3D SPI. Advantages vs. 3D SPI standalone systems include:

  • 3D SPI for the inspection of complex PCBs directly after the printing process

  • VERSAPRINT stencil inspection detects errors before they appear

  • Zero reference measurement of the unprinted PCB can be performed before every print

With the VERSAFLOW 3 series Krypton will benefit from a flexible system configuration and CAD-Assistant for offline programming. VERSAFLOW 3 provides secure process control with monitoring of all relevant processes, and offers a link for traceability systems for process control.

The HR 550 is designed for the highest requirements in terms of precision and process safety in electronic assembly rework applications. It features a 1,500W high performance hybrid heating element to desolder and solder SMT components up to 70 x 70 mm.

Krypton Solutions is AS9100D, ISO9001:2015, ISO13485:2003 certified and ITAR registered. The company provides innovative solutions to major customers in the semiconductor, medical, defense/security/aerospace, energy, telecommunications and industrial market segments from its facilities in Plano and San Jose.
