NORTH READING, MA - Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE: TER) announced that Realtek has selected the J750Ex for wafer sort and final test of their devices. Realtek, a fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan, ROC, is the leading supplier of Ethernet Controllers and Audio CODECs used in laptop and desktop PCs. Selection of the J750Ex was based on its high throughput test capability and efficient IG-XL® test development environment.

"Supplying components for PC motherboards is highly competitive and the pricing pressure is intense. At the same time, Realtek devices are required to deliver much higher performance, but have short product life cycles," said Wilson Wang, deputy director & Testing Engineering department manager, Realtek. "By implementing our production test on the J750Ex with the Mixed Signal Option, we are able to quickly bring products to market and meet very aggressive cost of test and mixed signal test coverage targets.”

"Realtek is a critical supplier to many of the largest PC manufacturers, and introduces a constant stream of innovative new products to improve connectivity and audio performance," said Greg Smith, marketing manager, Computing Products, Teradyne. "Realtek has been an important J750 customer for 10 years, and the high level of compatibility between the J750 and J750Ex was a critical factor in the selection of the J750Ex. By choosing the J750Ex, all of the expertise that had been developed on the J750 can immediately be brought on line to continue to reduce cost of test and maintain high device quality. "

Since its introduction, the J750 has achieved rapid market acceptance as an economical solution for testing microcontroller, FPGA and other digital audio/baseband devices. Over the years, the J750’s hardware architecture has enabled additional product family members to be introduced to deliver market leading cost-of-test economics for Image Sensor and LCD driver devices. In addition, Teradyne® IG-XL software on the J750 reduces program development time for multisite production release and continues to be the benchmark for ATE software.

Realtek Semiconductor Corp. is one of the world's leading IC providers.
