Infolytica's MagNet continues to lead industry in accuracy

Dec 07, 2007

Montreal December 5, 2007 - Infolytica Corporation announced a new release of MagNet 2D and MagNet 3D, the company's flagship low-frequency electromagnetic field simulation software. Several features have been updated in this new release, improving both the accuracy of the simulation results and efficiency of the user.

Automated Meshing

Automated mesh refinements in 2D are handled more efficiently, resulting in significantly faster runtimes. A documented example on the company's website demonstrates a reduction in runtime by a factor of three.

General springs for dynamic mechanical effects

Simulating complex electromechanical devices requires the versatility permitted with MagNet's support of arbitrary motion (multiple degrees of freedom). Taking full advantage of such power is now easier with the improved spring modeling that calculates the dynamic mechanical effects of any two spring-connected components, commonly found in many magnetic suspension systems or complex actuators.

Support for new MagNet Plug-In for Simulink

Complex control algorithms, such as vector controlled circuitry, are now supported when using the MagNet Plug-In for Simulink for co-simulations between an electric machine and control logic.

Support for latest Extension Pack

Several tools for enhanced analysis capabilities, such as for coil creation, advanced field probing or parameter management, are now supported in MagNet.

MagNet 6.25 is now available for PC's running Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista. For information regarding pricing or to request an evaluation, please contact an Infolytica Corporation representative nearest you.

Maintained clients can visit the Online Customer Service Center at http://www.infolytica.com to download the new release or contact their representative for more details.
