Feb 19, 2015 NEPCON China 2015 will take place in Hall 1 of Shanghai Expo Center from 21 to 23 April 2015. The event is set to feature new technologies and products in SMT, surface welding, electronics measurement, automatic electronic production, static electricity prevention and new materials.
Since 1985, when surface mount technology (SMT) was first introduced to China, the country has seen major growth of SMT in electronics manufacturing, to the point where, today, it has completely replaced traditional printed circuit technology. Thanks to its unique features and benefits, SMT is making major waves in electronics assembly.
The first NEPCON event took place in Spring 1985, organized by Reed Exhibitions. Today, as the 25th installment approaches, NEPCON has become a must-attend event of global significance. The event serves as a key commercial platform that enhances exchange among SMT players.
In the past 30 years, China has become a frontrunner in design and production of SMT applications. The adoption of SMT has contributed to the country’s IT development. A look back at the SMT experience in China provides lessons that help us look to the future and help the industry to grow stronger, faster.
The 30th anniversary of the introduction of SMT to China will be an auxiliary NEPCON China 2015 event. A reception will be organized to mark this milestone and celebrate the successful launch of NEPCON 2015. SMT experts, industry association leaders, upstream and downstream suppliers, and media organizations will all join the reception, which will be a powerful opportunity to share information about SMT development and offer advice to Chinese electronics industry professionals.
Among the highlights of the celebration will be a review of 30 years of SMT development in China, SMT technological innovation, Chinese brand name development, growth in number of trade associations and publications, illustrations of NEPCON China achievements and the discussion of development of electronics manufacturing in China.
As part of the celebration, we are calling for papers and articles to contribute to the publication of 30 Years of SMT in China: Review and Outlook. We invite submissions that relate to SMT history, industry experience and case studies, together with comments on the SMT industry growth in China.
