NEPCON South China 2009 to Provide a Platform For Market Recovery

Jul 20, 2009

NEPCON/EMT South China 2009, jointly organized by Reed Exhibitions and the Electronics Information Industry Sub-Council of China's Council for the Promotion of International Trade, will take place at the Shenzhen Conference & Exhibition Center from August 26-28, 2009.

This year, the exhibition will be held in conjunction with other important events in the Chinese electronics industry calendar, including EMT South China, Finetech South China, ATE China and AE South China. Together, these five exhibitions will provide a unique opportunity for the electronics manufacturing industry elite to meet, network and do business – all under one roof.

NEPCON South China 2009 will be held on as grand a scale as the 2008 edition. Five hundred of the world’s leading electronics manufacturing exhibitors, from a total of 22 countries, will take part. This impressive lineup will cover 30,000 sq m of exhibition hall space and exhibitors have pledged to showcase a comprehensive range of new products and innovations.

NEPCON South China is the electronics manufacturing industry’s largest and longest-standing exhibition in South China. As such, it is considered a true barometer of the industry’s prevailing trends as well as an important trading platform from which numerous manufacturers can develop their business. A large number of leading manufacturers, including Assembléon, Yamaha, Sony, Mydata, Samsung, Panasonic, Fuji, Saki and Senju, once again will support this year’s NEPCON exhibition. The longevity of their support shows that they recognize NEPCON South China as the most important regional bridge between them and their customers. The NEPCON exhibition has become an excellent place for both electronics manufacturers and outsourced service providers to seek suppliers, gather market information and study new technologies. It helps suppliers showcase their key wares and facilitates visitors’ and buyers’ understanding of how new technologies are developed and where to obtain the best technical solutions today. This two-in-one approach enables both parties to effectively save time and seize on trading opportunities.

Although the world economy is still in recession, many exhibitors believe that participating in NEPCON South China 2009 will help them to drive market growth and keep their finger on the pulse of the industry. In so doing, they hope to develop new business opportunities. The fast-expanding netbook sector, smart phones and server markets, LED illustration, communications, medical electronics, and other thriving industries all represent viable business prospects.

Visitors will be able to see the newest equipment related to the latest popular electronics trends. For example, the smaller printing area provided by printer manufacturers; technical solutions used in a variety of product areas provided by placement machine manufacturers; innovative dispensing systems used in LED device manufacturing provided by dispenser manufacturers and other advanced technical solutions.

The consistency of the NEPCON series of exhibitions, which sustains growth in the number of high-quality visitors and exhibitors it attracts, is the link the organizers value most of all. It also ensures that NEPCON remains able to build high-quality, industry-focused exhibitions. The organizers remain committed to inviting even higher credential visitors, professional buyers and end users to visit the exhibition. This will be achieved through a range of activities including sending out invitations via call centers, visiting important buyers and organizing visitor delegations. The result of these efforts is expected to see up to 28,000 visitors participate in this year’s event.

The SMTA Conference is one of the must-attend highlights of the annual NEPCON exhibition. The focus of the conference is to improve domestic electronics manufacturing industry growth and strengthen close cooperation along the entire industry chain. During this economic slowdown, manufacturers must now, more than ever, understand trends, latest innovations and cost-effective technical solutions. They also must explore technologies suitable for future applications and be aware of the pressing issues that numerous enterprises now are focusing on. Knowledge of these important subjects will not only help companies to survive this difficult period, they also will provide direction for continuous growth after the economic recovery.

In 2009, the SMTA Conference will be held at the same time as NEPCON South China. The agenda and topics are carefully coordinated and key experts from countries around the world will present their papers on the electronics industry, manufacturing, advanced package technologies and the reliability of lead-free technologies.

For NEPCON South China 2009, Reed Exhibitions has designed a series of outstanding programs to enable both exhibitors and visitors to make the most of their exhibition experience through a well-organized agenda. After fully analyzing the dominant industry issues, policies and geographical characteristics, the organizers will hold a series of special forums aimed specifically at addressing these issues. For example, a Netbook Technology Conference will be jointly held by Reed Exhibitions and New Electronics magazine. The conference will examine the attributes and advantages of South China in relation to the netbook manufacturing industry. It will look at how to adapt to the trends set by several top communication enterprises involved in netbook manufacture, driven by the 3G business. Additionally, Reed Exhibitions will work with Electronic Engineering & Product World magazine to host an Automotive Electronics Conference. It is expected that some 200 automotive electronics professionals will attend to discuss the huge opportunities for their dynamic sector in the future.

Another significant element of NEPCON was launched in Shanghai in April 2009: the China Electronics Manufacturing & SMT Industry Engineers Award. In a move that was supported and praised by the entire industry, the competition attracted around 100 participants and offered the winner the chance to visit INTERNEPCON Japan 2010. Online voting for “Best Engineer” was launched on the e-NEPCON platform and drew votes from many passionate engineers. In order to encourage as many electronics engineers as possible to participate, the organizers now plan to visit different cities throughout the country and let entrants register on-site. In August, NEPCON South China will be the first of several stops for recruitment, together with the South China Kick-Off Meeting of the 2010 Electronics Manufacturing & SMT Industry Engineers Award in China. The Journal of the West – Chengdu Road Show, taking place on September 23 and September 24, hopes to see the participation of more engineers from Midwestern China.

At this year’s NEPCON South China, the NEPCON Users Salon and SMT Home Members gathering will take place. The webmasters of SMT Home will meet with members from different regions of China at the Shenzhen center. In addition, the NEPCON Fans Club, which has some 4,000 active members, will award exclusive gifts to loyal fans. How to win points for the NEPCON Fans Club will be demonstrated on-site. This occasion also will provide a chance for members to actively interact online and offline.

“As one of most influential exhibition organizers in the industry, our mission is to drive the development and growth of our industry. Therefore, Reed Exhibitions has made every effort to improve our NEPCON offering and to increase customer satisfaction,” said Josephine Lee, Vice President of Reed Exhibitions East China. “As ever, we ensure both exhibitors and visitors that they will experience fresh hope for future growth as well as a high level of energy at NEPCON South China 2009. With this meeting of industry professionals, they will see a new dawn for the industry as a whole. It will help our customers to find new opportunities and get the highest return on their investment during this economic crisis. I am glad that our efforts are widely recognized and supported by the industry. This is what drives our efforts now and will continue to do so in the future.”
