SIPLACE Feeder Care

May 14, 2009

To maximize placement quality and speed, electronics manufacturers must keep their feeders in top condition. With SIPLACE Feeder Care Solutions 2009, a newly developed maintenance concept, Siemens Electronics Assembly Systems now offers electronics manufacturers the ability to significantly reduce feeder care maintenance costs.

The core of the innovative Feeder Care Solutions 2009 is the recently introduced SIPLACE Feeder Manager software which alerts users not only of the condition of their feeders, but also locates them in the factory and gives them control of the entire on-site feeder inventory. The data supplied from the SIPLACE Feeder Manager is then used by the SIPLACE Feeder Care Packages for X-feeders and S-feeders as well. These packages contain test stations for functional tests and error analysis, as well as special tooling. Easy and clear instructions enable users to perform their own maintenance and repairs in-house reliably and in accordance with the highest quality standards.

The software displays maintenance intervals, test and repair instructions as well as each feeder's history on a user-friendly and easy-to-administer interface, while the SIPLACE Test Stations include all of the hardware the user needs to check and troubleshoot his feeders.

The SIPLACE Feeder Care Solutions 2009 is a highly innovative, all encompassing process which takes into account the feeders, as well as the users. Setting up professional feeder maintenance in-house, in accordance with the supplier's quality standards, delivers significant cost benefits to manufacturers since the feeder availability increases and less replacement feeders have to be purchased. Thus, existing feeders are more utilized which in turn reduces overall Cost-of-Ownership considerably and shipment and repair times are kept at a minimum.
