Multitest Launches Multi-site Testing for High Pin Count Devices: MT9510 Pressure Booster

MT9510 Pressure Booster, Multi-site Testing for High Pin Count Devices.

Rosenheim, Germany - For high pin count devices, the capability of multisite testing generally is limited by the required contacting force. Additionally, there are even complex, integrated ICs with an extremely high pin count for which even single site testing is critical because of too little contact force. The well-established tri-temp pick-and-place handler, MT9510XP, now offers an option to substantially increase the contact force. This new feature enables users to test even high pin count devices in up to eight contact sites in parallel.

Typically, a minimum contact force per pin is required for standard contacting. The new pressure booster option doubles the overall force available. With the new option, twice as many pins can be contacted simultaneously.

With the overall configuration of the MT9510 remaining unchanged, this brings a significant benefit in equipment utilization, return on investment and cost of test. The new pressure booster option is available for all MT9510 models and can be effortlessly retrofitted in the field.
