Scott Huffman Joins Europlacer North America as Field Service Engineer

Europlacer, a designer and manufacturer of comprehensive pick-and-place systems for the global electronics industry, recently added a new member to its customer support team - Field Service Engineer Scott Huffman.

“Scott is a great addition to our team in North America, supporting our growing base of SMT pick-and-place equipment customers,” said John Perrotta, V.P. of Europlacer North America. “Scott is a hands-on SMT pick-and-place and screen printing equipment expert with a reputation for exceeding customer expectations. This is exactly in line with Europlacer’s commitment to helping our customers develop and maintain their competitive edge in the North American SMT assembly market.”

As Europlacer’s field service engineer, Huffman is responsible for supporting customer SMT pick-and-place process requirements, machine maintenance and service along with telephone and online technical support. Prior to joining Europlacer, he spent more than 11 years in electronics manufacturing with C.E. Electronics, Inc., working exclusively with SMT pick-and-place, SMT screen printing and SMT reflow oven process support, programming, maintenance and troubleshooting. For the past eight years, Huffman has worked exclusively with Europlacer and Speedprint SMT pick-and-place and SMT screen printing equipment.

Prior to his tenure in SMT electronics manufacturing, Huffman served as a production maintenance technician for Dana Fluid Systems, where he programmed and performed fabrication and troubleshooting of robotic welding systems.

Huffman’s education includes aerospace vehicle maintenance training with FAA licensing in both airframe and power plant categories from Cheyenne Aero Tech in Wyoming.

Europlacer has been developing machines for SMT electronics assembly since the 1970’s and invented the intelligent feeder concept in the 1980’s. After its acquisition by Blakell Europlacer in 1991, the company moved away from split-axis to the inherently more capable X-Y architecture that underpins the company’s pick-and-place machines today. Europlacer’s policy has been to ensure that whenever possible, technology purchased many years ago, especially feeders, remain compatible with the latest pick-and-place equipment. Europlacer designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of highly flexible SMT pick-and-place systems for the global electronics industry.
