Rolling Meadows, IL and Chelmsford, MA - Panasonic Factory Solutions Company of America (PFSA) and Assembly Products, Inc. collaborated to deliver high-mix solutions to the Eastern US electronics assembly market in response to elevated interest in the NPM-W placement machine and PanaCIM® Enterprise Edition Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
A three-day event was held at Assembly Products’ facility in Chelmsford, MA to further demonstrate for customers who attended the IPC APEX Expo as well as introduce the products to customers who were unable to attend. “Manufacturers need a common platform to move seamlessly from NPI to HMLV production, and our NPM-W is an especially ideal solution for this region,” said Brent Fischthal, Panasonic, Eastern Region Sales Manager. Eric Soderberg, Sr. Manufacturing Engineer for Whelen Engineering Co. agreed, adding, “The combination of flexibility and speed on the NPM-W, along with the fact that it uses the same robust feeders as the CM602s and CM402s we already have in use, makes it an exemplary machine for our high-mix environment.”
Attendees were also able to see the NPM-W’s application-versatility with its processing of XL PCBs and small boards in tandem with zero transfer time. Error-free setup, automatic teaching, and quick change heads were some of the features demonstrated for their time- and cost-saving benefits.
“Adding PanaCIM Enterprise Edition, Panasonic’s (MES) solution, to the event brought demonstrations to an even higher level,” commented Lino D’Andreti, Assembly Products, Product Manager, “— especially once customers saw that not only does PanaCIM offer offline tools, dashboards, analytics, and profit-preserving-solutions, it works with multi-vendor equipment.” Soderberg remarked, “The Material Verification and Production Analysis modules really set Panasonic apart.” Presentations included how the nine PanaCIM modules can be mixed and matched to suit various industry demands while promoting the accuracy, time reductions, and cost savings manufacturers need to compete.
Panasonic plans to continue market-driven, regional events throughout this year.
