LPKF, a leading manufacturer of laser and electronic systems, announces it will exhibit the ProtoMat S-Series, E33 and ProtoLaser S at the upcoming SMTA LA/Orange County Expo & Tech Forum, scheduled to take place Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at The Grand Long Beach Event Center in Long Beach, CA.

The ProtoMat S-Series is quick, accurate, and easy to use. For nearly 35 years LPKF circuit board plotters have been meeting and even surpassing user requirements. The S-Series circuit board plotters are bench top systems ideal for virtually all in-house PCB prototyping. Features such as automatic tool change, solder paste dispenser and automatic milling depth adjustment creates ease of use for anyone in the electronics lab. With high speed and repeatability, the ProtoMat S-Series can produce PCBs and other applications in a matter of minutes.

Also being highlighted at the show is ProtoMat® E33, an entry-level milling machine for in-house rapid PCB prototyping. This compact system is a great introduction to PCB structuring and comes with powerful software to effectively support the user during the milling process. It does not require the necessity of external vendors and encourages those with limited budgets a more practical use such as exercises, experiments, and educational applications. It has the ability to create single or double-sided circuit board prototypes without the use of chemicals, will drill holes for plated vias, mills individual units from base material and also engraves front panels of housings.

The ProtoLaser S, which boasts high-speed laser structuring and easy operation, also is being exhibited at the show. The LPKF ProtoLaser S creates boards even faster than milling and with pristine edge quality, eliminates the use of tools and chemicals, and is ideal for prototypes or even medium-run production. The potential to produce highly precise geometries in almost any material makes the ProtoLaser S the perfect system for the production of antennas, filters, and numerous other applications which require precise, steep edge quality and liberates users from the board house.

LPKF Laser & Electronics is the world leading manufacturer of both mechanical and laser systems for demanding tasks in printed circuit board technology and microelectronics. LPKF’s worldwide headquarters is located in Garbsen, Germany outside of Hannover and the company maintains North American headquarters in Portland, OR.
