MYDATA is introducing a new Agilis Flex feeder solution for larger components, which extends the reach of its proprietary Agilis feeder technology. The modular concept now covers any component on tape or stick and cuts loading and unloading times to a fraction of that of conventional feeders. Agilis Flex feeders are capable of handling component tapes of up to 152 mm in width.

Introduced to the electronics industry a decade ago, the Agilis feeder solution rapidly gained a following among MYDATA users thanks to its ability to offer ultra fast feeder loading and kitting, which translates into substantial time savings in setups and changeovers. As the system gives each feeder a unique identity, it also enables the recognition of the presence, absence or location of components, thus helping keep track of inventory. With the Agilis solution, machine positions for feeders are interchangeable since the operating software automatically recognizes the new position and re-optimizes the mount program accordingly.
Timesaving of 2,000 hours a year or more
According to MYDATA, using the Agilis solution can produce significant timesaving and help electronic manufacturers to boost productivity. For example, in an assembly plant, where 500 feeders are loaded and unloaded per day, a time saving of 30 seconds per feeder operation would result in a saving of 40 hours a week with Agilis feeders. This adds up to approximately 2,000 working hours a year, or the equivalent of one full-time plant operator - whose time and energy could be used for more value-adding tasks.
