Nihon Superior, a supplier of advanced soldering materials to the global market, recently celebrated milestone anniversaries in its partnerships with Balver Zinn Josef Jost GmbH & Co. KG and DKL Metals Ltd.
When Nihon Superior’s unique lead-free solder SN100C first was developed, the world was not aware of its superior characteristics. When the Video Division of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (Panasonic) adopted SN100C and decided to implement it in its factory in Peine, Germany, Nihon Superior decided to look for a partner who could support that business, who understood SN100C’s strengths and had the ability to take on the challenge of aggressively promoting it more widely. Nihon Superior found these qualities in Josef Jost and his company, Balver Zinn.
As interest in SN100C continued to grow, Nihon Superior looked for additional partners who were not just manufacturers, but who also had the passion to promote the high-quality alloy to many customers. It found that Colin Longworth and his company, DKL Metals, had these qualities.
In recognition of the 10th anniversary of these partnerships, Nihon Superior’s Mr. Nishimura presented Mr. Jost and Mr. Longworth with bamboo rings that are known in Japanese as “Taga.” These rings are used in traditional woodcraft to tightly bundle wooden boards and form a watertight container. Nihon Superior sees these rings as symbols of the strong partnerships that Nihon Superior has built and maintained with its partners.
In making the presentation, President Nishimura said, “I want to thank Josef from Balver Zinn and Colin from DKL Metals for their 10 years of cooperation promoting SN100C. Their kindness in introducing Nihon Superior and SN100C, that a decade ago were unknown outside Japan, to a wider market will be forever in my heart. I look forward to our continued partnership.”
