SMART Group, Europe’s largest technical trade association focusing on surface mount and related technologies, announces that it will expand its Webinar Programme to complement its established Workshops and Seminars in 2013.
The Webinars are designed to mix hands-on basic processes and technology with new trends and essential skills needed to survive in today’s market. These allow time-short members to keep up to date with key technologies and legislation without leaving the office.
The Group plans a series of Webinar presentations to cover the basics and move on to new, upcoming technologies. Additionally, the Webinars in 2013 will be available on a “listen again” basis to members. To participate in a Webinar, attendees need only have a broadband Internet connection, PC and headset microphone/headphones. Alternatively for groups in a conference room, only a PC with speakers, broadband connection and projector plus conference microphone is needed.
Because the majority of the SMART Group’s members are practical, hands-on people, the Group will still present a number of Workshops culminating in its 2013 Conference. These provide the important face-to-face networking possible only at this type of event. The conference will feature a programme that will include not just answering the usual technical challenges but also a broader view of factory management, concurrent engineering and so on to fully inform members about ways to improve productivity and efficiency. The Group also is exploring the potential to enhance the value of the conference through various forms of cooperative ventures.
