Dr. Mike Bixenman to Present Understencil Video Effects Study at SMTAI

KYZEN Corporation’s Dr. Mike Bixenman will present the technical cleaning process technologies paper titled “Understencil Video Effects to Study Solder Paste Transfer and Wiping Effects” at the upcoming SMTA International exhibition. The presentation will be held during Session SMT4, titled ”Stencil Printing Advances for Today's Electronics,” and will take place Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. in Room 47 at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. The paper was co-authored by Chrys Shea, Shea Engineering Services, Brook Sandy, Indium Corporation, and Ray Whittier, Vicor Corporation.

To improve solder paste print performance and better understand the behavior of flux-stencil interactions, solder paste release from the aperture wall and on the seating surface of the stencil is critically important. The purpose of this research study is to use video images of the bottom side of the stencil to understand the value of wiping, nano-scale flux repellent coatings and solvent cleaning.
