Cohoes, NY - June 2016 - Global manufacturer and supplier of conformal coating and precision dispensing systems, PVA (Precision Valve & Automation, Inc.) introduces their patent-pending Continuous Film Calibration option for selective coating applications. The option first made it's debut at APEX in Las Vegas, NV on March 15th.
Continuous Film Calibration will uniquely sense the entire coating pattern. Unlike pre-existing technology that moves across a sensor seeking the film edges to determine pattern widdth, Continuous Film Calibration will quickly detect the entire film and feedback not only pattern width but also any gaps or breaks in the film itself down to the pixel level. "Just as you wouldn't judge a book by its cover, you shouldn't evaluate a film pattern simply by the edges", says Frank Hart, PVA Sales and Marketing Manager. "We feel Continuous Film Calibration provides PVA customers the next leve of process control that they seek in high reliability applications."
Users can easily set the desired pattern width in PVA's proprietary user interface. Any variation in the width during a routine verification will result in automatic recalibration of the fluid delivery system settings with no required operator intervention. Since the pattern is evaluated in its entirety and does not traverse over a stationary sensor to recalibrate, the duration of time and the volume of coating rquired to recover to the optimal pattern characteristics are significantly reduced. Subsequently, Continuous Film Calibration results in the most comprehensive pattern check and correction tool on the market assuring reliable, worry-free processing of conformal coating materials.
