Dynatech Appoints Cleland in Western Region

Chris Cleland has joined Dynatech Technology, Inc., the exclusive North American distributor for Samsung Techwin SMT equipment, as Western Region Sales Manager. He will be responsible for Dynatech United States manufacturers' representatives and customers on the West Coast as well as in Baja and Sonora in Mexico and British Columbia in Canada. He will be based in the Los Angeles area.

Cleland brings 23 years of experience in electronics and the SMT equipment market to Dynatech, including 10 years with placement systems. Before joining the company, he was a manufacturer's representative handling pre-owned pick and place equipment, and laser engraving/marking and fume extraction products. His earlier industry experience included account management responsibilities for placement equipment, computer hardware, semiconductors, components and OEM accounts.

"It's important to identify potential production challenges with customers and work informally with them to find solutions as a partner in their success," said Cleland, who holds a BA Degree in International Marketing from California State University, Fullerton. "Cementing good relationships enables us to work much more constructively for much more effective results."

The Samsung Techwin line from Dynatech Technology includes the newly introduced. SM320 SMT Assembly System, designed to achieve placement rates up to 18,500 cph with 50m accuracy and up to 5,500 cph (based on IPC 9850) at 30m for ICs. The new system uses a robust frame and gantry system featuring a twin-servo motor design for the stability necessary to achieve extremely accurate placements at increased speeds. As the North American distributor, Dynatech Technology also provides 24/7 service with a guaranteed 30-minute call-back time. This continues a tradition begun by Dynatech International, its parent company, 25 years ago in servicing military and commercial aerospace organizations.
