Raytheons Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) was awarded with the Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing on September 14, 2005. The award recognized Raytheons Integrated Air Defense Center (IADC) in Andover, MA, for its successful lean manufacturing strategies and practices that had elevated the performance of its business center. The localized areas of success were achieved through applications of a generic transformational change process that had been tailored for Lean Implementation. Through leadership expectations, commitment, focus, training, and effectively connecting every employee to the expectations, Mr. Schuler and his team were able to achieve exceptional business performance.
Raytheons achievement in winning the 2005 Shingo Prize is not only something to honor but also something to learn from, stated Kelvin Marsden-Kish, Vice President of the NEPCON/Assembly family of events, produced by Reed Exhibitions. The constant demand of doing more with less is what manufacturing professionals are challenged with daily. We are very excited to have Mr. Schuler share his successes and how they can be applied to the working environments of our attendees.
