For a sixth consecutive year, DEK was awarded Circuits Assembly magazines Service Excellence Award, an accolade which recognizes companies who excel in the area of customer service. Customers ranked DEK in five critical areas of support dependability/timely delivery, manufacturing quality, responsiveness to requests and changes, technology, and value for the price and the company emerged as the clear winner in the Screen Printing category. Superior customer service and support tools are a key differentiator for DEK, states Brian Lau, DEK Americas General Manager. Maintaining this level of commitment and consistently delivering on our customers expectations is no easy task and we are honored to have had our efforts validated for an unprecedented six years running.
This year also saw a new awards program emerge, as Circuits Assemblys NPI Awards were given for the first time at this years APEX event. The NPI Awards were established to recognize leading new electronics assembly products introduced during the past year, comments Mike Buetow, Circuits Assembly Editor-in-Chief and UP Media Groups Vice-President of Editorial and Production. There is certainly no shortage of awards programs, but we believe there is a place for fair and honest recognition of truly unique and ground-breaking technologies. In the opinion of our judging panel, DEKs Instinctiv V9 software, which won an NPI Award, most definitely fits this criteria. Instinctiv V9 has been engineered to simplify operation of advanced screen printing equipment through its ability to optimize process control, enhance operator efficiency and maximize machine utilization. With intuitive touch-screen functionality, on-board video, faster set-up and first-time print, easier error avoidance and recover and the ability to reduce operator training requirements, Instictiv V9 raises the bar on machine control. Whats more, DEKs latest Instincitiv version now incorporates operation of some of the companys most productivity enhancing technologies including Cyclone underscreen cleaning and HawkEye post-print verification.
In addition to the honors it collected for customer service and Instinctiv V9, DEKs Reel-to-Reel (R2R) printing platform was also selected for IPCs Innovative Technology Center, an APEX contest that recognizes products that represent emerging technology or innovation. Clearly representative of this measure, DEKs R2R system was one of twelve winners chosen from a large pool of entries. A breakthrough technology that solves continuous substrate printing challenges, R2R enables robust handling and materials deposition for a wide range of substrates including flex printed circuits, organic LED substrates, fuel cell membranes, foils, papers and composites, among others. DEKs expertise in precision alignment and clamping technologies along with its tooling technologies enables R2R to meet the demands of large, flexible, continuous substrate printing. With the ability to print onto substrate materials as long as 150 meters and as wide as 50mm, R2R effectively provides a high throughput solution for a wide variety of reeled substrate applications.
With so many new products introduced at last weeks APEX event, it is immensely gratifying to have three DEK technologies receive such prestigious honors, concludes Lau. Our Expect More philosophy continues to set us apart.
