The PowerSelective offers all in one: highest flexibility, absolutely reproducible results, high soldering quality even with demanding assemblies, low capital expenditure and the possibility to be upgraded step by step at a later date to suit subsequent production developments.
One of the most popular features of the PowerSelective is its modular design. To meet subsequent throughput requirements in the production, the PowerSelective may be extended with separate fluxer and / or preheat modules which will be installed in front of the machine. This reduces cycle time remarkably.
The "heart" of the PowerSelective is a highly precise portal axis system. The two x- and y-axis with servo-drive ensure reliable positioning of the assemblies and work with a repeatability of +/- 0.1 mm.
A new feature of the PowerSelective is the high precision flux control which not only monitors the function of the jet fluxer, but also the actual flux quantity which is applied to the board. This ensures highest process reliability and constant process conditions without any influence on the cycle time.
Another new feature is the intelligent tool management which automatically recognizes incoming boards and allocates them to the soldering unit which is equipped with the corresponding solder nozzle tool.
In addition, the new PowerSelective offers tool change and maintenance 'on-the-fly'. This enables production with one soldering unit, whereas the other soldering unit is moved out to be reconfigured with a different nozzle tool or to be maintained - without any stop of the manufacturing process.
For highest process reliability the PowerSelective is featured with a fiducial recognition function for automatic PCB alignment. This software feature allows to register the PCB to be soldered optically and to compensate various types of misalignment such as offset, rotational error and linear shrinkage within the PCB. As a side effect, wrongly placed PCBs are detected and will not be soldered.
In addition, this software tool contains an error proof function which checks the loading of the correct soldering program and controls each board for precise positioning. Therefore, even possible operator faults can be recognized and compensated.
