SMTAI 2009 TECHNICAL CONFERENCE STRONGEST EVER

Nov 01, 2009

Minneapolis, MN - The SMTA today released a summary of the SMTA International Conference and Exhibition 2009 that took place October 4-8 at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego, CA.

The technical conference was one of the strongest to date. "SMTAI continues its reputation of providing the best technical program in our industry," said a session attendee. Access to high-quality technical articles is part of the huge value of attending the conference. These papers are also published in the conference proceedings, which is currently available in the SMTA BookStore on-line at http://smta.org/store/book_store.cfm.

Intriguing presentations by Dr. Ken Gilleo and Dr. Ron Lasky, as well as warm recognition and fond memories shared by many, marked the 25th Anniversary Dinner and Celebration as truly an event to remember. Nearly 200 attendees, ranging from students just entering the industry to some of the SMTA pioneers of the early days, enjoyed the momentous occasion.

The Keynote Address also drew strong numbers. Attendees were treated to a presentation by Peter Barry, Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), titled “NASA's Missions - Achieving Success” which gave an incredible perspective of NASA's current and future missions and the role mission assurance plays to achieve success.

“The SMTA sends sincere thanks to everyone who exhibited this year,” said Tom Forsythe, Kyzen Corporation and SMTA VP of Communications. “Without the exhibits, a conference of this magnitude could not be accomplished.”

The 2010 SMTAI Conference and Exhibition will once again be held under one roof, but will return to the East Coast at Walt Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Hotel in Orlando, FL on October 24-28, 2010.
