Semicon West visitors will be able to use the show to find out more about DEK Solar’s award-winning PV1200 metallization line, currently being proven in use by solar cell manufacturers worldwide. Delivering six-sigma process capability at a resolution of ±12.5 micron, the line’s advanced features include dedicated handling for thin wafers and high-speed machine vision capabilities. The DEK Solar team will also be talking to visitors about its latest technology innovation, the very high throughput PV3000 metallization line. Featuring multiple print heads operating in parallel, the PV3000 ensures that, if one halts for operator attention, the others will continue to print – virtually eliminating downtime.
The PV3000’s inherent accuracy and flexibility is also an ideal foundation for emerging manufacturing techniques such as Print-on-Print (PoP). Enhancing cell efficiency and driving down cost-per-watt, PoP is designed to give finer grid lines more height. The process involves printing lines twice over or more to increase the conductor’s cross-sectional area to enhance current-capacity without shadowing underlying silicon substrate. As well as finding out more about how PoP can help them meet their solar objectives, Semicon West visitors will also be able to talk to the DEK Solar team about other innovations including its recently launched Hybrid Screen technology. A real-world solution for higher aspect ratio printing, DEK Hybrid Screens deliver improved frontside conductor finger patterns minus the cost and complexity traditionally associated with this area of photovoltaic development.
Commenting on the company’s presence at the show, DEK Solar Alternative Energy Development Manager, Darren Brown, explains: “We’re looking forward to meeting with Semicon West visitors; the show is an ideal opportunity to showcase the full scope of our offering – a scope which is proving extremely valuable for customers around the world! In addition to leading-edge technologies, we also deliver over four decades of experience relating to precision deposition of advanced materials in sectors from solar cell production to wafer-level semiconductor packaging. Our extensive global infrastructure and world-class lean manufacturing expertise has dramatically reduced lead times while process innovation is further complemented by our award-winning service excellence. And it’s all delivered by application engineers, support engineers, product specialists, process experts, screen and stencil designers – the list goes on. Come and meet them at Semicon West!”
