For 15 years, Hawk was involved with Liverpool University, building highly complex circuit boards and cables for the Hadron Collider project in Cern, Geneva. With today’s printed circuit board designs becoming more complex, HAWK identified the need to invest in a state-of-art stencil printing capability. After investigating the market and attending numerous demonstrations of stencil printing machines available in the UK and Europe, Hawk decided to choose Speedprint Ltd. (a division of the Blakell Europlacer Group) as the preferred supplier of this product, selecting the SP210avi, fully automatic stencil in-line printing system.
Alicja Kay, Managing Director for Hawk Electronics Ltd., said, “Speedprint’s SP210avi stood out from the rest of the providers of stencil printing solutions not only for the ease of use of the technology but also the low maintenance and running costs made it a very affordable and attractive proposition for Hawk. We previously invested in Blakell Europlacer for our AOI platform, and have been very satisfied with the after-sales service and support. Once we established that, technically, the Speedprint machine was right for us the decision was made easily. Having now had the machine installed and our team trained, we are pleased that it has lived up to our very high expectations and helped optimize our process as we have always strived to achieve.”
Blakell Europlacer is one of the pre-eminent equipment suppliers in the UK and currently distributes not only Europlacer placement and Speedprint stencil printing machines but also Evest placement, Saki AOI, Hexi reflow oven equipment, R&D vapor phase BGA rework, Aegis fully integrated data preparation software and Datapaq thermal profiling.
The company strategically moved into distribution to increase its penetration into the UK market for its new partners as well as for its own group products, Europlacer and Speedprint.
