"Insertion technology is often mistakenly considered old technology," pointed out Masa Kaji, Panasonic Group Manager of Electronics Assembly, "but insertion technology is still very necessary for many consumer and industrial products. Much of the other available insertion technology is nearly ten years old; however, as a total solutions provider, Panasonic has continued development. In fact, we're releasing a new radial platform again this year--and it's stronger, smaller, and faster. With the smaller footprint and increased speed, the RL is definitely spatially efficient."
Other advantages of the new RL132 high-speed radial lead component insertion machine include a lead chuck system providing insertion at 25,700 cph (0.14s/component), a 33% reduction in PCB transfer time, up to a 18% reduction in electrical and air consumption per insertion, and improved perishable parts lifespan—resulting in a very competitive low cost of ownership. The RL132 supports PCBs up to 650mm x 381mm, four pitch insertion (2.5/5.0/7.5/10.0mm) as well as component verification and part binning for expanded capability.
Panasonic will exhibit the RL132 at APEX 2011, April 12-14th in Las Vegas, NV in booth #2259.
