IPC-7711/7721 Trainer (CIT) Certification Training Course

Participants experience an intense, hands-on printed circuit board rework and repair lab coupled with a review of all the applicable procedures outlined in the IPC 7711/7721B specification. Utilizing the industry’s latest tools, materials and technology, students will perform a variety of IPC 7711 through-hole and surface mount component rework and inspection processes. Additionally, students will demonstrate advanced proficiency in IPC 7721 repair and restoration of damaged printed circuit board assemblies.

Who Should Attend

Candidates include technical trainers, soldering technicians, QA and manufacturing personnel who process and/or instruct on the rework, repair and modification of electronic assemblies. The ideal candidate should possess above average soldering, rework/repair skills and sound reasoning abilities.

Content

Students will learn and demonstrate in a lab setting, the procedures and processes for rework, repair
and restoration techniques for the following:

• Chip and MELF
• Conformal Coating
• J-Lead and QFP
• Laminate Repair
• PWB Circuit Repair
• SOIC/SOT
• Through-Hole
• Wire Splicing

Students will be required to perform workmanship inspection of PCB assemblies to the acceptance
criteria of IPC A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies. Students must score a minimum of 80%
on a written exam.
