We agree with John about his comments on the controlable factors relating to your printer, but we'd add that paste formulation and mesh are also contributors to nice looking bricks.

I am currently looking at the volume of paste being deposited on a PWB 2.4mm thick with a 0.25mm tolerance. I am looking for information on PWB variation and a MPM AP25 series printer, and can the volume of paste be controlled on varing PWB thickness

AP25 can handle warped boards to a degree. I also depends on the board clamping system on the machine. There are three avbl. First is Universal Vacuum box, second is dedicated tooling with vacuum and third is Y Snugger tooling that does not use vacuu

Alistair, your paste deposit is controlled by a few things: Stencil thickness Squeegee pressure Squeegee speed Print gap in 99 out of 100 applications for paste printing you would have a print gap of 0 i.e. on contact printing where the PCB is in fu

We have a 1.6 mm thick automotive PCB board of size 35x70mm. One of our vendor has given us a batch with lesser soldermask thickness 5~8 microns. Will this affect the circuit board on a long term. What should be standard for the soldermask thickness?

Hi all, What should the typical gold thickness be on ENIG boards ? aj...

the puspose of solder mask is to prevent exposure of cu tracks to atmosphere. the lesser thickness can effect the performance of board but it only depends on its application. if you are making telecom board then its not good to use the board.

I would suggest 7mm thick "Durostone" as a carrier material. Cut lip/pocket for PCB so it is 0.05" thinner than thickness of PCB. Allow 0.010" gap on all sides of PCB. Machine lip to width between 0.050" and 0.100" to support under perimeter sides

Mask Musings. Soldermask (SM) and its functions have changed and evolved over the years. As an ex-solder mask applicator, I can remember screening Colonial High Gloss Epoxy soldermask on boards back in the early 80's, ending up with a thickness that

Tough to say. It depends on the type of solder mask, the producer of the solder mask, and your board fabricators' process. As one angle on this, solder mask type affects thickness. Minimum clearance: * Liquid photoimageable: 2 thou * Screened liq
