Francisco, You need to be concerned about "lead-free" BGAs. The SAC balls will not reflow at at standard tin-lead process temps. I have seen many examples where this has been a very big problem. In once case the BGAs just poped-off when the board was

Nothing wrong with using RoHS BGAs except that the spheres won't melt/collapse at normal leaded reflow temps. Reliability will questionable. Some people use a hybrid profile with a slightly higher temp (~230C)and a slightly longer TAL (60 -90 sec).

From what I have read so far the temps are, if not close to being the same for both alloy formulas. Preheat is a function of flux activation and thermal shock. Solder temp varies from place to place. Russ
