SN100C: High Temp

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 20 09:17:59 EST 2006 | George

Hi "theSaint", We are using SN100C in our wave solder machine. As far as the solder itself, the wave process follows pretty much the same concept as leaded solder. You bring the assembly temp to 90 C or more before the actual wave. Sometimes for mul

SMD adhesive

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 01 01:43:12 EDT 2005 | adlsmt

This is a bad situation and if you use (better to rework) adhesive that means it will work worse in your normal process(wont hold). Heat all the leads to reflow temp, twist (rotate)the part untill it breaks free. Most adhesives are not designed for t

Hybrid reflow profile

Sorry theres a mistake on previous question. It should be lead free component termination but non lead free solder alloy Sn63/Pb37. The reflow profile i am using : Soaking temp. 120 to 160 deg C; time 90 to 120 sec. Peak temp. 215 to 225 deg C; time

Lead Free High Temp Solder Wire

Electronics Forum | Wed Mar 01 16:30:46 EST 2006 | operator

Hello all, I am looking for a high temp lead free solder wire to use when attaching thermocouples for oven profiling. I figure something that reflows at 270-300c would do the trick. Can anyone give me a Brand, model# for such a solder? THANKS.

Lead-free profile for big electrolytic cap

Electronics Forum | Thu Jun 19 11:43:05 EDT 2008 | Roy

When the component suppliers specify the cap as no more than 50sec (or even less time)above 200C, is there any way the lead-free profile window will fit if we wil have to achieve a peak temp of 230c for at least 30sec for the lead-free process? maybe

Lead Free and Leaded Process Mix

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 18 13:34:31 EDT 2005 | jzaccari

Francisco, You need to be concerned about "lead-free" BGAs. The SAC balls will not reflow at at standard tin-lead process temps. I have seen many examples where this has been a very big problem. In once case the BGAs just poped-off when the board was

Lead-free BGA in Tin/Lead Process

Nothing wrong with using RoHS BGAs except that the spheres won't melt/collapse at normal leaded reflow temps. Reliability will questionable. Some people use a hybrid profile with a slightly higher temp (~230C)and a slightly longer TAL (60 -90 sec).

Lead Free Wave Soldering

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 05 18:34:06 EST 2005 | russ

From what I have read so far the temps are, if not close to being the same for both alloy formulas. Preheat is a function of flux activation and thermal shock. Solder temp varies from place to place. Russ

No solder and solder bridge after Wave solder machine

Electronics Forum | Thu Nov 17 13:13:49 EST 2005 | Mike

Hello, Some questions.... Are you running lead free? What alloy? Whats your pot temp at? Temp of the board after preheat? Are you getting any solder in the barrels (
