We've found that reverse homeplate reduces tombstoning significantly for us on 0603 and 0402 (the latter of which we hardly ever see).

There is no difference in 0402�s on the bottom side than 0603 0805 1206. They will not fall off or tombstone, unless they where before you put them in the oven.

I need your help! We have been doing double sided surface mount for 4 years now. Up until 6 months ago I have not had a tombstoning problem. Since then I have a fairly high incidence rate of tombstones on the 0603 size resistors (no other parts).
