For the first time, the IPC Board of Directors will include an IPC student member with a full voting board seat, in response to increased student member involvement in IPC and the potential for student members, as the emerging workforce, to influence workforce development. Paige Fiet, president of the IPC Student Chapter at Michigan Technological University, was elected as the first IPC Board of Directors Student Member Liaison. The IPC Education Foundation (IPCEF) developed the nomination/election process with IPC Student Chapter advisors and every IPC Student Chapter member was eligible to vote.

Today, IPC issued a blog post in support of the FY 2021 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) provisions that would bolster the resiliency and security of the electronics manufacturing ecosystem, including printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication and printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), the green-and-gold hardwiring at the core of all electronics systems. These provisions, approved in both the U.S. House and Senate, aim to improve the security of electronics purchased by the Defense Department.

The third annual M-EXPO Wire Processing Technology event held in Ciudad Juárez, México at the Cuatro Siglos Convention Center on October 9-11, 2019, exceeded expectations. This event was co-located with the ninth annual EXPO-MRO. These two events hosted more than 6,500 attendees.
