The Agilis feeders are much more reliable than the old TM feeders. You can tweak the TMs a little bit, but, it can be a pain. Agilis have better repeatability, and built in y axis correction for 0402 and smaller parts. On the newer machines (My se

We run a Mydata high mix, low volume line. You can handle strips with either the Agilis feeders (losing the first 5-10 parts) or by placing the strip on the Y or tray wagons. For cheap parts like resistors, capacitors, some diodes and small ICs, ou

Why is it disturbing to you ?This fascinates me. My true identity is an SMT process technician with over 11 years of experience in this industry. That should be sufficient for this forum. Why on earth would you need to know what my true name is ? I a

Ken, We're talking pennies. Even though the cost of a reel would be cheaper than trying to account for lost components I have to come close in figuring this attrition amount. Reason being is to try and prevent unplanned shortages. I am in constant

With regards to feeders handling 0201's, how does this feeder (as well as other manufacturers feeders) keep the pick position accurate? The feeders I've used have some play between the tape and the sprocket, enough so that if I tug at the cover tape

Many MYDATA customers might not be aware that some tapes are of PSA-type. They don't have to. In the early work with Agilis this was also an open issue for the design team, so several tests were made which showed that PSA would not be a problem. Rece

Bernard, The problem we have is when unloading the feeder several components may be lost due to the partial peel back of he cover tape. This area I am referencing just passed the point of the knife to the pick area. Also matching the correct feeder

JMills, The white clip that I refer to is for the Agilis feeder system. The actual clips (feeders) are color coded. As far as the timing on the TM8's, I received a proceedure from Mydata several years ago but had reverted to submitting the feeder ba

Yeah that is a drawback to those feeders. The plastic part that is mentioned in one of the responses is okay but you have to be real careful when pulling the tape out before you can put that part on. Mydata always says to leave the reel with the feed
