Most AOI, in-line or off-line, are operated by SMT machine operators. Yes, and how dare they say "..do not feel it is their job". FEEL, are you kidding me. Fire their asses.

Hi Erik, looks like there's not much appetite for this debate on this forum. Possibly because not many use them and aren't in a position to confirm or deny what we know. We use our pumps 6 days a week, 24hrs a day so it's a very dynamic proc

Hello to All, I have a question. We are currently under negotiation to buy a SPI/ 3D AOI as a bundle. Since there are so much of different companys, we took already 3 of them into the inner circle. What are your experiences whith these 3 Systems? I

Just wondering who should really operate an AOI? Should it be the SMT operator or the Inspector? We are trying to run the AOI inline but Operators do not feel it is their job to do so. Just wondering how others are handling it.

I agree with 3DAOI.com, in that you should be looking at Cyberoptics. They have a great product if you MUST have both of these processes in line, and if you must have 3D AOI. If you are willing to go offline, and want to get both AOI and SPI in one

Hi MCB, YCP10 is a good printer, and inline with Yamaha SPI, P&P, AOI, & P-Tools is a great printer. If you don't have a Yamaha line I'd probably go DEK or Ekra, but does depend on local spares and service support.

I forgot: - smallest part you can handle - Rework capabilities (espec. QFP, BGA) - Test capabilities (inline, offline, AOI, X-ray, ICT, boundary scan etc.) Wolfgang
