Does an AOI System need angled cameras

Electronics Forum | Mon Oct 07 22:06:43 EDT 2013 | action_101

I successfully inspect solder on plcc's with angled cameras on the yestech we have. In the past I have successfully inspected for solder with angled cameras on mirtec machines for both plcc's and qfn's. Other than inspecting solder on those two types

AOI vs. electrical test

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 03 15:16:53 EST 2006 | Cmiller

In circuit testing is expensive up front because of the fixture cost but the tests are fast. AOI programs can be develpoed in less than a day but take longer to run. If you have good test coverage, in circuit would be a better choice in my opinion-if

Can anyone tell me that between Mirtek & Kohyoung which AOI machine will be better and why?

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 16 12:33:58 EST 2015 | ianatvadatech

Hey Syed, I've been running the MV-9 for just over a year. We shopped around very extensively (two APEX shows) before switching from yestech to mirtec and we bought two of the best systems they had to cover the four lines we run. Two systems are fa

Mirtec Training Request

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 06 13:45:39 EST 2013 | phase1

Is there alot more to training than what the manuals spec out? The machine came with training outlines that seem to be a condensed form for programming everything from chips to fine pitch etc. Im not sure if this doccument came from Mirtec or the com

Yield on 0402 SMT Printed Circuit Board Assemblies

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 04 20:31:21 EST 2007 | Ben_T

Have you thought about an AOI system? With the system we have where I work, I'm able to run queries that'll tell me DPMO, yield, and pass/fail rates on a board level, part level, and opportunity level. Furthermore, this data can be broken down to see

AOI side angle cameras

Electronics Forum | Tue Jul 14 07:37:31 EDT 2009 | tony_d

Hello Reese, We currently own two MIRTEC MV-3 desktop machines and one MV-7 inline machine (so you can tell right away that I am a little biased.) We had an opportunity to evaluate both the YESTech and MIRTEC machines on our production floor. The

Yestech AOI question

Electronics Forum | Thu Oct 21 10:50:27 EDT 2010 | methos1979

I had a benchtop Yestech demo until for a couple weeks. It was a very good machine. I particularly liked the RGB light system which gave a good visual representation of solder fillets. There was software that allowed you to evaluate based on the p

AOI Machines...........

Electronics Forum | Mon Dec 05 14:32:05 EST 2005 | mo8080

Good Afternoon, Several of my customers own the Mirtec and they all have great things to say about it. You can also look at YesTech and Orbotech (But these may be a little more expensive). No Matter which machine you pick, I would love to be able

AOI-problems lifted lead on qfp-100

Electronics Forum | Wed Sep 29 16:04:29 EDT 2010 | hegemon

In my experience, the best way to do a lifted lead inspection on a QFP is by laser height measurement. It is very difficult to consistently catch a lifted lead with only a top down camera. As you say, too many false calls, and still some escapes.

AOI-problems lifted lead on qfp-100

Electronics Forum | Fri Oct 01 17:59:13 EDT 2010 | rway

Your real problem is further upstream. The limitations of your AOI aside, first find out why your leads are being lifted. Is it through handling or are they from the reel that way? To address your AOI question, Hegemon is correct, coplanarity inspe
