"Note: nothing changed to the process, the problem come out of sudden." Did this happen with a batch of boards you'd been running a while, or was it a new batch (lot/date code)of boards? I'd be inclined to suggest that the environment that your my

| | | Recently, there has been an upsurge in the Pin Hole/Blow Hole problem in our wave soldering process. We are baking the PCBs for 2 Hrs. at 125 degree C. The Wave Soldering profile seems to be O.K. Still the problem is persistent. Can somebody

| I was just wondering what solutions are out there for dry storage. Our basic need is to be able to store boards that have been baked and need to remain moisture free for up to a week. | Michael: Let's take a different angle on this. Why not ha

PCB Delamination

I have never heard of steaming PCBs. Wouldn't this induce moisture into the PCB and cause more delamination and out gassing? The only way to fix delamination, providing your manufacturing processes are in line is to find a new PCB fab house that can

PCB Baking after Wash

Dear Steven: Often the recommendations for baking prior to assembly are derived from various J-stds. But J's currently concern baking moisture out of components, and fail to address the moisture issues of the PCB. Because of that, there is the IPC D

I agree that we should bake the pcb at higher temp and for longer time.for example...95--115c for at least 4 hours. also, keep the temp from 150--170c ,60-90 seconds while preheating. completely keep the moisture and volitales out of pcb and solder pa

Hi I don't know what FR4 you are using, so check it out to make sure 125 isn't too high. I have seen this done occassionally when the PCBs have bad moisture or other problemx where baking helps prior to assembly and solder, yet I haven't seen it do
