Hi Guys, I was asked by our QA Supervisor on how to scrap electronics boards. We have Populated PCB's that are already scrapped and would like to permanently mark them that they are Scrapped... Is there any recommended method of marking scrap PCB's

Look up the glass transition temperature (Tg) for the PCB material. If you get the PCB above this temperature it will become quite soft. If it is a populated board remember to take any moisture sensitive devices on it into consideration.

There are no requirements acceptance criteria for baking of board assemblies. What are your customer requirements? The common reasons people choose to bake PCB are to prevent: * Delamination of multilayer boards * Measles, particularly on double si

Be very careful how you perform the removal process if you want to re-use BGA/CSP devices. As you are aware, the majority of these components are classified as moisture-sensitive by the manufacturer. This means that if they absorb too much moisture

iv40, Thanks. The PCB that we are populating the BGA hybrid onto does not have holes in the vias. I think the manufacturer indicated that on their hybrid it has holes in pads. This hybrid is a PCB assembly with BGAs and other components populated

Currently, my company's applies a PCB bake (5 hours @ 125C) for all SMT PCB's prior to surface mount assembly. Many of us believe this is a non-value added activity, and have concluded it can be eliminated. With today's PCB process controls coupled

SMT-ypw: Does PWB supplier start to implement PWB drying packaging? B3: YES! The fabrication of the PCB involves a series of wet processing that requires counter-measures to remove moisure. While some of the PCB processes also include bake cycles th

My company has an oppurtunity at an account, but it would require us to populate flexible PCB's. This is something we do not have any expereince in. Are there any good sources I can reference to learn about this process?
