Guy's another question, how about any recommendation what type of adhesive to use as underfill for BGA during lead free process? Currently, we are only using Loctite 3609 & 3515 as adhesive we use 3515 as BGA underfill during normal leaded process s

Have you done any analysis on the failed rework? There could be any one of several reasons, i.e. bad alignment, wrong reflow profile, bad pad plating, etc. More information will help us help you.

When reworking a BGA, we apply paste, inspect alignement with a camera and then proceed with the temperature profile. For the majority of the other components easily side accessible we do them by hand soldering.

for a very repeatable rework srt 1100HR is a very nice machine... alot of $$$$ though.. i recently used a APE Sniper and i thought this machine was very simple but good to use easy to profile, and align BGAs.

Has anyone had any success with placing BGAs with the Quad QSP-2? We have been having alignment issues with BGA placement but our placement of 0402 parts is dead on. We have worked through the calibration and it seems to be correct.
