Thanks for all the advise. I was able to recruit one person for a week to inspect boards after pick and place and was able to show a 65% efficiency increase for that line. Now I have a req. for 5 more people. Thanks, Nuez

BAKING MICRO BGA BOARDS AFTER REFLOW AND WASH

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 30 22:30:06 EST 2004 | davef

Tony First, drying at 125*C for an hour is not going to do much drying. Heck, those boards are barely warm to the touch. Second, tell us about: * Pitch of your uBGA * Solder paste flux * Cleaning process and agents

Electronics Forum | Tue May 11 10:43:37 EDT 2004 | Melissa

Has anyone experienced problems lately with excess flux residue left on the board after reflow when using Alpha UP78 OSP paste? We are getting a component failure that the designers are blaming on too much residue. Thanks

Board cleaning machine problem

Electronics Forum | Wed May 16 12:29:57 EDT 2007 | realchunks

Hi Pete, I am familiar with their CM series machine. They have anti static bars inside the machine. If I were you I would measure the board after this machine to see if it retains any ESD. If not I don't think you have a problem.

No-Clean Wave Solder Process Control

Electronics Forum | Mon May 26 09:31:41 EDT 2008 | davef

What steps are taken in low residue wave soldering to assure the proper amount of flux is applied prior to soldering? * Too little flux can result in poor solder flow. * Too much flux can result in corrosive residues left on the board after soldering
