Kester makes a thermocouple solder: Alloy SN10PB88AG2 Flux "44" Core 58 Diam 0.031" I have used this to solder thermocouples to pcbs when profiling for lead-free temperatures. When done you can unsolder the thermocouple and reuse it again. This g

Yes you are correct Barry. The Suction tape provides a flat surface for the PNP nozzle to pick -up. In some cases I have seen a plastic "cap" ove rthe pins to provide the same thing. The cap can be reused. Both require, unfortunatly, manual removal

You're going in the direction of fab improvement, a great direction. But in another direction; If you're already in a carrier, how about using a skyhook of some sort to support the middle of the fab from the top side? In some cases you can put fine

What equipment do you have? As well as the comments from others, another major influencing factor can be the residual heat in your PCB carrier. It takes more heat energy to warm a cold carrier than if it is already hot from the last cycle run. This

I would suggest 7mm thick "Durostone" as a carrier material. Cut lip/pocket for PCB so it is 0.05" thinner than thickness of PCB. Allow 0.010" gap on all sides of PCB. Machine lip to width between 0.050" and 0.100" to support under perimeter sides

Joe: It might be tough to generalize about the number of times you can reform a lead before it is weakened beyond the point of reuse, because of different lead materials, thicknesses, amount of bending etc. It might be that "ugliness" is the answer

First, you must determine a few things: 1. What specific de-fluxing chemical are you going to use? Basic required determinations include the chemicals pH, is it a VOC (if so, what is its VOC content), what concentration is the chemical used in (1
