Contact Mentor and ask them - explain your situation and tell them you only want to extract centroid data and that you couldn't design a doorbell. They may help you for free. Also, send me a file and I'll see what I've got.

has anyone used the above software from GraphiCode? kindly give us feedback on how easy it is to extract centroid data from a gerber file? any limitations that we need to be aware of during the conversion? thanks in advance

Hello, tell me please, what type of file do you need to make a program for Omron AOI, only centroid data?

You may want to also check out a cheaper package. They advertise here. Unisoft is a simpler package which makes it cheaper. http://www.unisoft-cim.com/ Jerry

Can you explain in details what you want to do. 1. do you need to create parts for your library(datasheet) 2. Do you want to create a pick and place file for a board(centroid file from CAM/CAD system)

We use our MIRTEC to inspect Thru hole axial components after they've come off of the Universal VCD machine. I just add them to the centroid data in Circuitcam and the operators program the images like any other part.

Had a similar problem as the software can be tricky and time consuming - I ended up getting the files created by http://www.surfacemountprocess.com/centroid-file-generation-service.html
