Cleaning of Entek Boards

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 18 21:04:06 EDT 2002 | davef

So, why can't you clean misprints on Entek boards? Entek: Cheap, flat, OK shelf life, not without process and fabrication issues. Your Entek organic solderability protection is probably Entek Plus [CU106A] made by Ethone OMI. Consider getting a co

PCB SHELF LIFE AFTER FIRST REFLOW

Outside the MSD issues stated already (and I cannot provide a exact time not knowing multiple factors like Humidity levels, temps, exposure times, etc...) OSP might be the very worst finish to use in this scenario of side 1 / store on a shelf / side

Toluol (toluene). I use it in the solvent cups in my PVA machines to keep the nozzles wetted. We also use it to clean spots where coating is not supposed to be. Techspray 2510-N coating remover pen will also work very well for this.

How do you clean OSP PCB's without washing it off?

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 14 20:11:19 EDT 2006 | davef

You weren't specific about the OSP that you use. We use Entek Plus CU-106A. Yes, just about everything removes Entek, especially if there's heat involved. Ethone states: * Alcohol strips 70% of the coating * Water removes 15% * Kyzen Lonox only t

Acrylic conformal coat cure test method

Checked the archives with no luck. Anyone have a reliable test method of verifying acrylic conformal coat cure. Using Humiseal 1B31 mixed with approximately 30% solvent, spraying with a Nordson. Thanks in advance.

We too have recently got involved with conformal coating. We have had a good deal of sucess of cleaning the material off with gun wash. An aggessive solvent that does not harm the electronics and evaporates leaving no film

Convert SMT Heller 1809 EXL 10 Zone Oven to Cure Conformal Coating 1b73

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 07 10:59:15 EDT 2017 | capse

I looked at the tech data for the coating. It appears to need an explosion proof oven for curing (flammable vapors from solvent). I doubt the Heller reflow is explosion proof type oven.
