Today, Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD-8) met with executives and employees of IPC-member company Zentech Manufacturing, Inc. at the company's manufacturing facility in Baltimore, Maryland. Coordinated by IPC, the world’s leading association for electronics manufacturing companies, this visit is part of a nationwide effort to educate policymakers about legislative and regulatory issues that affect the electronics manufacturing industry.

IPC's Validation Services Program is proud to announce that Zentech Manufacturing, Inc. has become the first company to be recertified to the IPC-J-STD-001 Space Addendum QML program. Zentech Manufacturing, Inc. achieved the QML certification three years ago and this year successfully demonstrated the Class 3 level work required for recertification. Not only did Zentech Manufacturing, Inc. become recertified, their wholly owned subsidiary, Colonial Assembly and Design LLC, added the QML certification for IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies, at the class 3 level.

IPC's Validation Services Program has awarded an IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 Qualified Manufacturers Listing (QML) to Fabrication Technologies Inc./IGM Solutions (FabTech-IGM) located in Libertyville, Ill. FabTech-IGM is a leader in contract manufacturing, engineering, fabrication and integration of electronic and metal products. Following the top down approach, a customer encouraged the company to seek the IPC certification to assist with their internal continuous improvement projects. FabTech-IGM successfully completed an intensive audit, based on two of IPC's foremost standards: IPC J-STD-001, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies and IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.
