Are you saying you have solder balls (as in solder paste balls) at the lead tips (or land tip)? This means your thermal profile is not hot enough. why the sudden cahnge? I will bet the lead frame material was copper and is now alloy 42. sounds like

You may need slightly longer dwell times and a little more heat in the reflow and wave to ensure proper alloying/wetting. Also consider if you are using a nickel doped and high copper alloy on bare boards in Leaded wave solder bath you will pick up c

We are a small company, reletivly new to doing our own SMT (1 year) and we are having an issue, I think. We manufacture many board with no problems, but we have one that constently defeats us. This particular PCB has ENIG finish, and we have had th

Yes l know this problem keeps cropping up on the forum but l've missed some of the follow-ups. Our problem is that the lifting only occurs on 3% of production so actually detecting an improvement is difficult. We're actually having to inspect 144 p

| I'm reviewing my board fab spec. It calls for a minimum SnPb thickness of 50 microinches on HASL PWB's. I've looked at other specs that call out anything from 30 to 80 microinches, and others that just say the copper pad must be covered and solde

Our new PCB supplier can give us a 20% price reduction if we convert from an ENIG finish to a FLASH gold finish. My uderstanding between the two is as follows: ENIG - Nickel is plated over copper and then immersed in Gold which forms a self limited f
