It should show up as a mass storage device. Not to insult you intelligence, but do you have the hard drive powered up? You need to power it up if you haven't done that.

Robert, you will have to re-load the MINT software. It only takes a couple of minutes to do this. This will fix out the errors. Refer to your DEK manuals on how to carry out this function. Cheers, Alan.

Yes, it's powered up. We use a simple power supply that connects directly to the drive. It spins up fine. I belive my problem is with Windows not recognizing the old type of drive correctly. It does recognize it as a mass storage device (the drivers

Thanks for the support. Maybe you can help me with another problem. I get a pate dispensor error command time out, which clears itself, then a screen actuator error command time out that doesn't clear during initialisation. Machine won't do anything

Could be an intermitant card, or encoder issue. Sounds like the machine is giving this error because it is loosing track of one of the axis and instead of trying to move something and possibly crash, it locks up in error mode. Could be something as s

Search for the bios or motherboard on ebay. Type in the part numbers you find on the boards and see if anything comes up. Often these are standard pc boards. I've repaired my old MPM by finding the cards on ebay cheap.
