During IPC APEX EXPO 2019, the IPC Education Foundation launched six IPC student chapters at: Auburn, North Carolina State, Sacramento State, Central Carolina Community College, Gwinnett Technical College, and Michigan Technical University. The student chapters at North Carolina State, Central Carolina Community College and Michigan Technical University provide examples of how industry can partner with education institutions to prepare engineering students with knowledge specific to the electronics industry.

IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries® announces a leadership change within the IPC Education Foundation (IPCEF). At the end of the year, Colette Buscemi, senior director, IPCEF, will leave the Foundation and Charlene Gunter du Plessis, who currently serves as the Foundation’s director of strategic partnerships and programs, will transition into the role of senior director.

The $5000 Charles Hutchins Educational Grant, co-sponsored by the SMTA and CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY magazine, was established in memory of past SMTA president, educator, mentor, and industry colleague, Dr. Charles Hutchins. The SMTA has awarded $100,000 to Hutchins Grant recipients since 1998!
