Vectra Question

Electronics Forum | Fri Aug 04 16:11:59 EDT 2006 | chrisgriffin

Hell Doc, This is an easy one. But first I must disagree with the wave master. I have done extensive refurb. jobs on Soltec and Vectra. The only thing Soltec has on Vectra is a better solder pot, and even that is close. Vectra software is many, m

Wave solder: Vitronics-Soltec vs. Electrovert

Other way around Dave. We decided that the Delta had more in common with the Electra rather than the Vectra, the Electra being much more expensive. For example, we wanted 3 preheat zones for lead free and this would mean an exernal fluxer unit if

I would argue that Electrovert makes the best cleaner in the business (Aquastorm 200) and I would also argue that the Vectra and Electra waves are some of the best around. The Omniflo ovens are excellent as well. They're not going anywhere. And who's

I sent you a couple of charts to assist with your troubleshooting. One is the Electrovert Wave Solder Troubleshooting chart and the other is Sandia Labs/Electrovert Optimum Solder Contact Time. Electrovert has a 6 deg. conveyor angle standard on the

I was running the conveyor at 3.75 when we started the discussion with Electrovert. Unfortunately, foam fluxing is a fact of life for us. Our products have open contact relays that can become contaminated by spray fluxing. Titration is our only me

Wave solder: Vitronics-Soltec vs. Electrovert

The New Redesigned Vectra , should fit right into the same price range as most mid-range wavesolder machines offer by most. We are looking to replace a existing Delta Wave and found the pricing about the same. But The upgrade prices can be high for no

I'd have to disagree with the Electrovert applications guy. I'd recommend SLOWING down the conveyor between .5 to 1 FPM - effectively, you're REDUCING contact length (because contact length = dwell time * conveyor speed), hence getting better peel-o
