1. What is an Encoder Encoder is a kind of equipment that can compile and convert signals or data into signals that can be used for communication, transmission and storage. Encoder converts angular displacement or linear displacement into electrical signal, which is called code disk and code ruler respectively. It is a common motor positioning equipment in industry, which can accurately test the angular displacement and rotation position of the motor.

As is known to us, rotary encoders consist of incremental encoders and absolute encoders. And absolute encoders are much more expensive than incremental encoders. In fact, both two types of encoders are used for position measurement. So what's the point of using an absolute encoder? For distance measurement applications, both incremental and absolute encoders can be chosen - from a technical point of view. The advantages of absolute encoders are reflected in accuracy and performance, while incremental encoders seem more economical and practical.

Perhaps your stencil supplier could laser mark the number on the stencil. This only helps from here on. How about engraving the numbers on the stencils you already have? Engravers are pretty inexpensive and shouldn't damage the stencils.

We engrave a kind of 'dog tag' which we attach on to the frame. It's fairly visible. You need to put it on somewhere that doesn't get in the way - depends on your equipment. You can also use it to give the operators an orientation for loading the st
